The Final Countdown

With the baby due in less than two months,
preparation for the little one’s arrival is in full swing. We
are brushing up on our parenting skills, or lack thereof, taking
several child birth and child care-related classes. The nursery
is complete (and not to mention head-to-toe pink) and everything
has been washed and put away.

Even Oreo is getting ready for his new
sister’s arrival, modeling some of Baby Artemenko’s things for
mommy. We are all very excited. I think the only things we are
missing at this point are the baby and her name! Suggestions are
welcomed!

I’m continuing to feel well; however, I’m starting to become
more aware of my size. The girl is growing, and as a result, so
am I. It’s hard to believe that I have approximately two more
MONTHS to go! But, so far, so good…I have had nothing but
positive feedback regarding my and the baby’s health.

Nike Plus

Obviously things have slowed down around
the blog. I'm extremely busy at work and loving my new
job. One interesting phenomenon of having your own blog is
realizing how repetitive your life is. You find that posts
about weekends generally have about 3-4 typical outcomes, unless
there is some kind of spectacular life event.
And then heaven help you if you start doing
new things just for the sake of blogging about them. No
comment there.
Around last year this time I was fumbling
with a website called Gmaps to measure my jogging (credit goes
to Adam).
This year, I've found a new product that I
like and it's worth putting pen to paper -- or fingers to
keyboard in order to share: it's called Nike Plus. Who
knows if it will inspire running in the waning months of faded
new years resolutions and chocolate covered pretzels -- aka
March and beyond.
Nike Plus is a little gadget that fits
snugly against your shoe (or inside it if you have a shoe made
by Nike). The gadget beems a signal back to your Ipod, and
your Ipod can measure distances while playing your favorite
music.

So after you pop it in your shoe and run
around for a bit, you plug the Ipod back into your computer for
a charge and it automatically downloads your latest running info
so you can keep track of your progress.
So far I have had a lot of fun with it.
